Jona was born and grew up in Tirana, Albania. She and her family moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where she spent most of her childhood. Jona has studied at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, the Bauhaus Hochschule Anhalt in Dessau, Germany and the University of Tennessee. She holds a Minor in International Affairs, a Bachelors of Architecture and Masters of Architecture. She spent her graduate studies exploring the impact of natural light on education through the design of a secondary school in Fond des Blancs, Haiti. Prior to starting her own Architecture and Interior Design company, Jona worked at McCarty Holsaple McCarty in Knoxville, Tennessee and Sawyer Berson Architecture and Landscape Architecture in New York City. Her passions include illustration, design and fashion. She currently lives in Manhattan with her husband, David and daughter, Klara.
